- Addresses: delivery details you save or enter at checkout.
- Quotations and orders: the products, quantities and notes you send, your company name if you give it, contact details, delivery address and order history.
- Messages: what you write to us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you visit, used to keep the site secure and working.
- If you accept analytics cookies, usage data collected by Google Analytics. See our Cookie Policy.
- Your quote basket and saved items are kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not take card details on this website.
3. Why we use your data
We use personal data only for these purposes, on these grounds:
- To provide what you ask for — preparing quotations, taking and delivering orders, running your account, answering enquiries and providing support. (Needed to take steps at your request and perform a contract.)
- To meet legal obligations — keeping tax, accounting and invoicing records, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
- Marketing emails — only if you subscribe, and until you unsubscribe. (Your consent.)
- Analytics cookies — only if you accept them. (Your consent.)
- Security and improvement — preventing fraud and abuse, fixing faults and understanding how the site performs. (Our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable business, balanced against your rights.)
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
5. Transfers outside the UAE
Some of our providers store or process data outside the UAE. Where that happens we take steps to make sure your data is protected to a standard consistent with UAE law — for example by using established providers with contractual data-protection commitments and security controls. You can ask us for more information about a specific transfer.
6. How long we keep it
- Account details: until you delete your account.
- Orders, invoices and payment records: for as long as tax and commercial law requires us to keep them (in the UAE this is generally at least five years), even if you delete your account.
- Quotation requests and contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and for up to 24 months afterwards.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: according to Google Analytics’ retention settings.
When we no longer need data, we delete it or anonymise it.
7. How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls so accounts can only see their own information, and limiting who on our team can access customer data. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.
8. Your rights
Under UAE data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- ask whether we hold data about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed;
- ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it, in the circumstances the law provides;
- object to processing, including marketing, and withdraw consent you have given at any time;
- ask for your data in a portable format, where applicable.
You can update your name and phone number, or delete your account and its data, yourself in Account → Profile. For anything else, email info@glassstore.ae. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law allows. Deleting your account does not remove records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UAE Data Office.
9. Marketing and unsubscribing
We only send marketing emails to people who have subscribed. Every marketing email will tell you how to stop them, or you can email info@glassstore.ae at any time and we will remove you. We will still send service messages about your quotations and orders, because those are not marketing.
10. Children
This website is for businesses and adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version, and we will highlight significant changes on the site.
